Projects

My son keeps telling me how bored he is. So I went to Wal-mart and bought over $100 woth of activities for the kids this summer. I bough sun catchers, pony beads, fun fuse beads, pom pom animals, chenille animals, hand puppets, 3D chalk, and paint brushes (already have the paint), foam visors, foam sunglasses, and masks. Quite a list of things to do. Now if only they will be okay with doing just one a day. There are always lots of other things we can do. Lets hope I can keep them occupied for the rest of summer. Ha Ha.

Pictures of YW Camp 2009

We made it to camp and start with a story. The Lorax and Warm Fuzzies!

Marie almost gets hit by flying logs. The girls like to use the ax.

Aren't they pretty in their tutus.

Ready for the hike. We have sunshine!

Those are some big beavers. Good thing we didn't run into any on the hike.

Star Charts. The sky cleared just for us.

The Amazing Leaders, Crystal, Jenae, Anjela, and Marie

Anjela imparting her wisdom and Marie showing us the source of her strength. Her Wonder Woman belt buckle.

Kristi nearly gets nailed with flying debris.

See where the flying debris came from? Our supportive Priesthood leaders.

Jenae testing the cheesy potatoes. A favorite for many of the girls.

We enlisted the Bishop to help us cook the bagged omelets. He did it with a smile.

"Do you trust my aim?" Poor Aaron was doused with used cooking oil. Oops.

We had sunshine the last two days and it was wonderful. We have the best girls!!!!!

We got home and the rain came pouring down. But we managed to dry out.

YW Camp

I managed to get to camp and back home this week. We have had rain unlike any other June in history. OK, maybe not that bad but rain was coming down in buckets. The roads were so muddy we didn't think we would be able to make it to the camp. The girls were real troopers though. I made them do activities in the rain. Most of them managed to keep a good attitude about it. We had so many crafts for the girls we should have called it craft camp. But it worked out well because of the rain. We tried to keep warm and dry. We witnessed many miracles and the girls came away thankful for the experience. I get to work with some of the best girls ever. They all care about each other and get along so well. I am grateful that I work with them.

Contacts

I really am beginning to appreciate my contacts. I have to go with them and wear glasses for the next three weeks due to a growth on the back of my left eyelid. I've been wearing my glasses for 5 days already so it will be a month of glasses, hopefully. I was given a medication for my eye and must use it 4 times a day for 2-2 1/2 weeks. Then I can try the contacts again and see if there is any trouble. At least he didn't say the bump would have to cut out. Yet. Let's hope meds take care of it.

Kids Are Messy

It seems I am endlessly cleaning up after my children. They do help out sometimes in the cleanup but they are so much better at making the messes. I am so tempted to sit down with a book and read all day. Then the house will really be in need of a cleaning. It's like trying to keep a tornado tidy. At least with the basement finished I can contain some of the mess to a single room. Oh well, this kind of thing won't last forever. But I don't think I'll miss cleaning up spilled juice everyday.
